There are parts of motherhood that are deeply beautiful.

There are parts of motherhood that can be difficult to put into words.

This circle offers space to pause, create, reflect, and be alongside other women who are moving through this passage.

No artistic experience needed. Just yourself, an open mind, and

your beautiful baby.

Co-creating with other mums, nurturing our babies together.

A personal invitation from Tūī

Becoming a mother changes more than your daily life.

It changes your identity.

The woman you were before motherhood hasn't disappeared.

She is learning to exist alongside the mother you are becoming.

For many women, this can feel both deeply beautiful and unexpectedly unfamiliar.

You may find yourself holding love and grief in the same breath. Gratitude and uncertainty. Wonder and exhaustion.

Sometimes all within the same day.

These experiences don't mean you are doing anything wrong.

They are part of becoming.

This experience has a name.

It is called matrescence.

Like adolescence, matrescence is a profound period of physical, emotional, psychological, and social change.

Yet unlike adolescence, many women move through it without language, guidance, or spaces where their own experience can simply be witnessed.

So much attention is placed on your baby's growth.

Far less attention is given to your own.

That is why this circle exists.

Not to teach you how to be a better mother.

Not because you need fixing.

But because every mother deserves a space where she can be held with the same care she so freely gives to her child.

A circle of women who understand.

Motherhood can be full, and still feel lonely.

You can be surrounded by people all day, and still miss the kind of company where you don't have to explain yourself.

This circle offers that. A small group of women, meeting each Wednesday, in the same room, week after week.

Some are carrying their babies inside them. Some with their babies beside them.

All somewhere in the passage of becoming a mother.

You don't need to arrive with anything to say.

Some weeks you might speak.

Some weeks you might listen.

Some weeks you might just sit, rest a hand on your belly or hold your baby close, and let the presence of other mothers be enough.

There is no expectation to share more than you want to. There is no advice being handed out.

There is only a space that is genuinely yours for a couple of hours a week.

And what you'll find, over the weeks, is that creativity begins to move with you outside of Wednesday mornings.

A song hummed while walking your baby.

A drawing left half finished on the kitchen table.

A line written in the car when they've finally fallen asleep.

The circle is only two hours of your week. But something in it stays with you.

The circle is never the same twice.

It takes its shape from whoever is in it.

Welcome. I'm Tūī.

I'm an expressive arts facilitator, art teacher, and a new mum.

I believe art is a portal. Writing is therapy. Singing and dancing moves energy between feeling and releasing.

Art is not something I just do. It is part of who I am. I think it's a part of who we all are. A part of our humanity.

I was going to a mums group. Going out walking. Spending time with family and friends. Present with my daughter, there for her day and night.

I thought I could do it all. I'd waited my whole life for this.

But one night, with a heaviness in my heart, I admitted to my husband. I'm finding it difficult. This is hard.

We both acknowledged that I needed more space for myself.

With an hour to myself each day, I would return to the things that refill my cup. Meditation. Drawing. Vocal toning. Dancing. Singing. Journalling.

And if I didn't get that hour to myself, I would do these things with my baby.

It became our new norm. I felt so much more at ease in motherhood. It was feeling more natural.

The natural progression, then, is to share these moments with other women and their babies. Like our ancestors did.

Mothers singing, dancing, and crafting side by side.

Nurturing the souls of our children, simply by living in our feminine state of creativity.

That is what this circle is.

If this calls to you.
